This job involved repairing, recasting and revamping the doll prop used in the London production of the Phantom of the Opera. I helped to create the latex and foam casts of the many body parts and build the metal skeleton designed to delay any damage and distortion to the prop. For the next stage, I painted the latex forms - first with Aquafix adhesive and water and then with acrylic paint (and more Aquafix) - in a base colour. Jonathan Saville* then painted the detail on the face and bust, whilst I shaded the legs and assembled all the pieces of the doll together.
