As art director, I played a large part in the creation of this interior set, designed by Lizzie Osborne, for the NFTS stop motion FishWitch.

Building this glacial home had many stages; wooden frames were built up with polystyrene and ModRoc was used to sculpt ice shapes and shelves on top. I chiselled away at plaster forms to create flat, winding patterns on the ice cave floor.

These sculpted walls and floor were airbrushed with a green-blue hue and coated in resin, creating the impression of ice in a darkened space. Snow, made with Toupret and marble dust, was gathered around the door and on cave ledges to finish.
