Empty Spaces is a film exploring the concept of lingering time. Through a yellowing colour scheme and rooms filled with haze, I attempt to understand the bewildering experience of old age, decline and creeping time, when a person’s identity is threatened and their relationships redefined.

The film is a collage of scenes within the past and present, which involved finding period relevant props whilst also maintaining a consistent feel throughout the film. The presence of nature is a a running visual theme throughout - strong and defiant in contrast to the dwindling human life depicted.
